New Machines Could Turn Homes Into Small Factories-I.E. a REPLICATOR!
Just as all my Star Trek fantasies are coming true I am reminded that our World has yet to deal with poverty , hunger , and doing away with money. Perhaps these are next and it's just a bumpy ride to get there. Anyway, today I say imagination is the key to our future and if you can imagine it , it is that much closer to being possible. At the
University of Bath engineers have created a machine based on rapid prototype machines used to make plastic industrial parts , that can make everyday household items - yes, a replicator:
"At the moment an industrial company consists of hundreds of people building and making things. If these machines take off, it will give individual people the chance to do this themselves, and we are talking about making a lot of our consumer goods - the effect this has on industry and society could be dramatic."
